Cassie Soluna Presents: Girls Who Inspire — The Showcase

Join Cassie Soluna for the first edition of Girls Who Inspire, an intimate fundraising showcase celebrating girls, women, creativity, and community in recognition of the International Day of the Girl Child.

Taking place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at LIVE! on Elgin, the evening brings together live music, comedy, conversation, and community in support of AKHRI – Mothers and Daughters Literacy, an organization working to support mothers and daughters through literacy and education in rural Somaliland.

The showcase will feature performances from four talented Ottawa artists, each bringing their own unique voice and creative perspective to the stage:

? Talia Aoude — an Egyptian-Italian Ottawa artist blending soul, jazz, and R&B with cinematic storytelling and powerful vocals.

? Hannah Vig — an Ottawa singer-songwriter whose indie folk-rock sound and intimate songwriting explore young adulthood and queer identity.

? Glenys Marshall — a musical comedian and sketch artist known for her sharp humour, character work, and theatrical performances.

? Miss McLeod (Marlayah) — bringing her own distinct artistry and energy to the Girls Who Inspire stage.

The evening will be hosted by Serge Nkusi, a rising force in Canadian comedy. Bringing high energy, sharp storytelling, and a unique perspective shaped by his journey from Madagascar to Canada and his deep Rwandan roots. We will also feature an AKHRI spotlight, Cassie Conversations, fundraising opportunities, a silent auction, and time to connect with fellow members of the community.
